Capella Reader is a free viewer designed to display any music score created using the software programs developed by Capella. It shows you your favorite Capella music scores using a variety of display modes, and allows you to search for notes or melodies within the sheet, and to move quickly to a specific system or bar. Besides, its configurable MIDI capabilities will play back any score for you.
This dedicated viewer will open all your CAP and CAPX files, allowing you to work simultaneously with as many scores as you need. The program offers both a cascade and a tile mode to help you arrange your open files, and any score can be viewed either as a single continuous sheet, or by using their original page layout. The screen can be conveniently split into four different areas, allowing you to view up to four different parts of the same file at a glance.
One of Capella Reader’s main assets is its searching capabilities. You just have to key in a note or a section of a melody in the graphical editor provided and the program will do the rest. Every search can be customized, allowing you to determine specific criteria for both rhythm and pitch, select the voice or voices in which you want to perform your search, and more.
Its customizable MIDI playback functionality is, undoubtedly, its most impressive feature. The cursor movement is perfectly synchronized with the music, showing you the exact position of the note that is being played back, and the voice or voices in which that note is located. Besides, every instrument, articulation, dynamics, rhythm, trill, ornament, and tuning feature can be set up to meet your preferences.
